Our client is one of the fastest growing learning solutions companies in the UK. They are already a market leading supplier of learning solutions, providing a wide range of e-learning, training and consultancy services. They are now seeking an experienced business development sales specialist to drive sales of their web-based learning management platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consultative sales and building a pipeline of prospects through regular client visits, networking, cold calling and relationship building
  • Focused business development and relationship management activity
  • Meeting with potential clients to understand their requirements
  • Developing creative solutions in line with client’s requirements
  • Developing and implementing strategic account development plans
  • Writing high quality proposal documents
  • Presenting and selling professionally and confidently to clients
  • Negotiating deals and handling contracts worth £30,000 to £250,000
  • Creating and following up on leads from exhibitions etc.
  • Liaising with project management and implementation teams

Experience

Solid experience selling learning management systems, content management systems or HR software. Operating at a senior level in a client-facing business development role, closing business of between £30K and £250K in value.

Job related knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Sales prospecting and business development skills
  • Client relationship and rapport building skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present to senior decision makers
  • Good proposal writing skills
  • Understanding of the e-learning market, including standards e.g. IEEE, SCORM, and usability standards
  • Understanding of learning technologies such as Learning and Content Management Systems
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
