Our client is seeking an experienced instructional designer to design and develop engaging, high quality e-learning solutions. Responsible for the specification and design of online and other training solutions for our client’s blue-chip customer base. The role is part of a team of Instructional Designers but may involve some management responsibility depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of instructional design strategies and specification of e-Learning development projects with the commercial requirements of each project
  • Design and development of e-Learning and computer-based training materials
  • Client management and general project communication (including issuing status reports where required)
  • Specification of graphics and other visual requirements for development
  • Quality assurance and quality control reviews, including liaising with the Development Team in India to ensure products meet client requirements
  • Liaising and managing external parties (e.g. video and audio providers) to ensure outputs are of the desired quality
  • Sales support presentations and proposal development where required
  • Other activities prescribed by the e-Learning Development Manager

Candidate Requirements

  • Experienced in developing distance learning materials, specifically bespoke online solutions and e-Learning
  • Detailed knowledge of training theories, methodologies and techniques (e-learning)
  • Strong knowledge of and several years of experience using e-learning development tools
  • Experience of using development tools (e.g. Flash, Actionscript 3.0) 
  • Analytical skills and the ability to assimilate technical information
  • Excellent written skills (for a range of purposes and audiences)
  • Ability to be creative whilst working to strict deadlines
  • Project management skills
  • Management experience desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand new technologies and learn or utilise technical development tools
  • Understanding of different development techniques, including rapid development
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
