Instructional Design Consultant

Our client, a global e-learning solutions provider, is seeking a Learning and Instructional Designer who will be a key member of the existing instructional design team. Working with blue-chip clients to create leading-edge, innovative and engaging web-based training materials, you will possess several years of experience in creating e-learning materials in a range of subject matter and media, based on sound pedagogical principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining instructional design standards and procedures across the business
  • Liaising with product development and production teams to drive creativity and innovation in our products
  • Conducting training needs analysis and requirements scoping with clients to identify needs and solutions
  • Consulting with clients on content requirements and instructional approaches and identifying the optimal media approach to achieve learning objectives
  • Coaching and supporting client SMEs during content development
  • Creating learning specification documents including learning outlines and storyboards from client and subject matter expert meetings and independent research
  • Analysing existing courseware to suggest enhancements and updates
  • Liaising with the sales team to support pre-sales efforts through face-to-face meetings and creating scoping documents
  • Assisting with responses to RFPs
  • Presenting the company's philosophy, products and services at sales, project and RFP meetings.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree educated
  • Several years experience of client-facing instructional design in a range of media (including Flash, video, audio) and subject matter
  • Experience of working within corporate environments (either client facing or within an instructional design team)
  • Experience of creating blended learning solutions
  • Appreciation of global aspects of learning including cultural challenges, language and diversity
  • Knowledge of the main e-learning standards such as SCORM 1.2
  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate at all levels from senior executive to junior developer
  • Strong procedural writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent client-facing skills
