Our client has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Technologies Manager who will report into the Head of Learning. The successful candidate will take responsibility for this organisation’s international learning management system, it’s Virtual Academy and ensuring these internal services are an integral part of the Training Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the ongoing development of e-learning as a core tool in training delivery. Work closely with the Training team to build the use of blended learning approaches as a standard part of this client's international approach to training delivery.
- Extend e-learning, developing a training delivery capability which is 'location independent' wherever possible and not dependent on a continuing increase in training FTE to meet growing training requirement over the coming years.
- Work closely with the Training team to develop seamless use of e-Learning to get greater value from the same time and / or financial expenditure
- Maintain and extend theVirtualAcademyas a "best in class" learning management system, supporting the global delivery of training and skills development initiatives.
- Manage a panel of e-Learning development providers, ensuring implementation of the most appropriate solutions (e.g. bespoke, off the shelf or hybrid) for the organisation's learning needs.
- Design, implement, monitor and evaluate Technology-related interventions to meet specific needs and bring about improved organisational performance, using qualitative and quantitative measures to demonstrate an acceptable return on investment.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and external providers to ensure the delivery of cost effective, business focused L&D solutions for the learning management system.
- Understand the L&D requirements of the business' project
agenda, identify projects, initial point of contact for project
managers, scope high level requirements and identify / recommend
solutions which will speed delivery of those requirements.
- Target activities and work in partnership with the stakeholders
within the business and third party suppliers to define, project
manage and support the:
- Integration of technology in learning related initiatives
- Design and configuration of the LMS system in line with the overall L&D strategy
- Training activities associated with the LMS
- Development of eLearning content
- Procurement of eLearning content
- Implementation and usage of virtual classrooms
- Integrating LMS into the L&D framework
- Aligning content with curriculum
- Continuous improvement to ensure best in class
- Target activities and work in partnership with the stakeholders
within the business and third party suppliers to define, project
manage and support the:
- Actively promote the Virtual Academy driving greater use and value from the tool
- Develop and implement effective systems and processes for employees to understand, access and engage with the Training team and the learning solutions available
- Support the HR team in the implementation of level 1 & 2 evaluation tools, with which to measure the effectiveness of training and development solutions.
Candidate Requirements
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) design and administration
- Experience in managing third party e-learning system content providers
- Demonstrable project management, planning and organisational skills
- Solid (and recent) L&D experience working in demanding and pace driven environment within a global blue chip organisation
- Previous experience of working in an international and/or multi-cultural environment
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels
- Strong analytical skills & reporting skills
- Experience of consultancy at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable commercial awareness and financial management skills
- Ideally CIPD Degree/Graduate
- Formal project management methodology training
- Experience of regulated Financial Service environment
