Learning and Development Lead

We're looking for a Learning & Development Lead who will be responsible for a bespoke graduate IT skills development programme.

You will work strategically to create a powerful and effective training programme and manage a team of trainers across London and the North West.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct organisational training review to support the programmes ongoing learning and training strategy
  • Ensure there is a development plan and pathway to maximise potential
  • Delivery of the L&D strategy identifying and managing training delivery growth areas
  • Delivery of technical and business skills training when required
  • Developing the L&D portfolio
  • Co-ordinate individual training and development plans
  • Manage and direct the day to day activities of trainers and trainees in the programme
  • Strategically set operational and delivery objectives and targets
  • Manage and maintain all training assets and infrastructure
  • Organise training venues, timetabling, logistics and infrastructure, to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery

Qualifications

  • Project management qualifications are desirable

Education

  • Degree educated or equivalent

Experience

  • 5 years’ experience or equivalent leading learning teams and developing strategic commercial growth
  • Demonstrable experience developing, managing and implementing strategy
  • Experience in creating and delivering training material
  • Experience of project and programme budget management

Skills

  • Exposure to learning IT skills frameworks, such as SFIA or other
  • Competent in technologies and software development languages e.g. Java advantageous
  • Strong organisation skills and excellent time management
  • Solution-focused approach to team and stakeholder problems
  • Ability to influence at senior levels in order to achieve results
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and get the best out of a team
  • A keen understanding of training and eLearning trends, developments and best practices
