Account Manager - Learning & Development

A rare and exciting opportunity in a reputed international organisation within the L&D arena, that is seeking an ambitious and client focused individual with a genuine passion for and interest in the ever-changing L&D landscape. Your main focus will be the proactive growth and development of existing clients but will also include identifying new business opportunities.

This role refers to business development duties in the way of growing client relationships and giving excellent customer service experience rather than harsh business development duties.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and strengthening client relationships via consultative and advisory based account management and sales
  • Identifying and creating opportunities to develop revenues via the cross-selling and up-selling of Learning and talent development related solutions
  • Attending and networking at industry conferences and seminars
  • Accurate sales forecasting and effective management of opportunity pipeline
  • Assisting clients in successfully delivering on L&D related projects and initiatives
  • Driven by client success, proactively collaborate and partner with senior stakeholders within both L&D/HR functions and the wider business to successfully deliver on L&D initiatives
  • Acting as the first line of contact for client queries and escalating issues where necessary

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications desirable

Education

  • Relevant educational experience desirable

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a client facing, L&D focused role
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of development and trends within L&D
  • Ability to develop and grow accounts through outstanding relationship building and customer service
  • Desire to learn and continuously develop
  • Experience of selling to and ensuring ‘L&D success’ for Corporate, ‘Blue Chip’ clients
  • A genuine interest in L&D, learning technologies and how it is evolving
  • Adept at engaging with senior, C-level stakeholders and decision makers within L&D
  • Articulate and confident, adept at rapport building
  • Proven achievement of personal sales targets
  • Passionate about making a real impact in the L&D industry

Skills

  • Proven consultative sales skills in an L&D focused role, with strong networking credentials
  • Possessing an excellent telephone manner with face-to-face sales experience
  • Following up on inbound enquiries and converting these to sales
  • Self-motivated and results driven, with excellent prioritisation skills
  • Conscientious with a genuine desire to excel
