An exciting opportunity for a IT Security Administrator working in the City but with a few days home working per week. You will support the Head of IT and the senior IT team in all activities associated with IT systems and infrastructure. Primary focus in on the security and confidentiality of the systems but will also include maximising system availability and reliability. Central London based - this role comes with a free Zones-1-6 Oyster Card for you a one other person living in the same household.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to IT security alerts and plan mitigations for discovered vulnerabilities
  • Manage Information Security requests related to IT systems & services
  • Maintain the corporations Incident Response and Disaster Recovery plans
  • Install and configure PC’s, printers and other IT equipment on all sites.
  • Install, maintain, upgrade and patch operating systems and applications
  • Maintain systems for maximum availability
  • Arrange quotes and raise orders for the purchase of company IT equipment from external suppliers
  • Monitor network performance and reliability
  • Maintain regular backups
  • Document procedures
  • Identify and manage problems and troubleshoot system issues to resolution
  • Provide second line support by responding to enquiries and requests for assistance with corporate IT systems and equipment
  • Overseeing computer security and anti-virus updates
  • Liaise with 3rd party application support professionals
  • Advising on training needs and courses available
  • Undertake on call duties once competent
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver IT projects

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft on premise and Microsoft SaaS & 365 technologies
  • Working knowledge of VMware, Citrix and Checkpoint products
  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and communication standards
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases
  • Technical knowledge of railway specific applications and systems
  • Have an interest in keeping pace with the latest trends and practices related to the IT industry including cybersecurity
  • Good standard of literacy, numeracy, analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities

Experience

  • Two years experience of managing IT systems

Education

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
