Learning Design Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Learning Design Manager to join a well-established, global organisation.This role will take ownership of end-to-end digital learning design projects, delivering high-quality, innovative eLearning and digital communication solutions that support operational excellence, compliance, and performance improvement across global functions. The successful contractor will act as a design authority and consultant, influencing learning strategy and delivery at scale. This is a predominantly remote role, with occasional UK-based onsite collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned digital learning and instructional design projects
  • Act as a subject-matter expert and design consultant on digital learning concepts, methodologies, and best practice.
  • Lead and manage storyboard design, art direction, and content development for a wide range of eLearning and digital learning interventions.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal developers, external vendors, and functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Select and apply the most appropriate authoring tools and technologies to balance learner engagement, innovation, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure all digital learning deliverables meet defined quality standards
  • Contribute to learning solutions that directly support compliance, risk management, operational qualification, and capability uplift across global teams.

Skills

  • Advanced instructional design and digital learning architecture skills.
  • Strong capability in learning consultancy and stakeholder engagement within complex, regulated environments.
  • Expert use of modern digital authoring and creative design tools, including: HTML5, Adobe Creative Suite (including After Effects), Articulate Storyline or Captivate
  • Strong understanding of multimedia, video production, and interactive learning design.
  • Excellent project management, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent English required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior digital learning or eLearning design role
  • Extensive experience designing and delivering innovative, interactive digital learning solutions for large, global audiences.
  • Proven application of learning theory and pedagogy within digital instructional design.
  • Demonstrable portfolio of high-quality digital learning and communication solutions.

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, or a related discipline is desirable
  • LD-related qualifications are desirable
