Our client, a well-established and reputable organisation, is seeking an experienced senior learning and capability leader to shape and lead its enterprise-wide skills and learning agenda.
This is a broad strategic role with responsibility for skills strategy, capability frameworks, structured learning pathways, learning design, regulatory learning and the leadership of a multidisciplinary function.
The successful candidate will have operated at scale within a large, complex organisation and will bring the breadth required to connect future skills, workforce priorities and learning provision.
This role aligns most closely with the LPI Capability Map areas of Strategy and Operations, Performance and Impact, and Future Skills.

Responsibilities
- Define and embed an organisation-wide skills strategy, taxonomy and capability framework.
- Translate current and future workforce requirements into clear capability priorities.
- Lead structured learning pathways and capability hubs across business-critical skill areas.
- Own the end-to-end learning offer, including learning design, content strategy and scalable asset production.
- Connect skills development with workforce planning, internal mobility and business strategy.
- Provide strategic oversight of regulatory and compliance-related learning.
- Use workforce data, learner insight and business demand to prioritise learning investment.
- Lead and develop managers and specialist teams across skills, learning design and regulatory learning.
- Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders across a large, highly matrixed organisation.
Skills and experience
- Significant experience leading learning, skills, capability or talent development within a large and complex organisation.
- Proven ownership of enterprise-level skills strategy and capability frameworks.
- Strong understanding of skills taxonomies, competency models and skills-based workforce planning.
- Experience developing structured learning pathways, academies, skills hubs or comparable capability models.
- Strategic leadership of learning design, development and scalable content production.
- Experience aligning learning priorities with workforce demand and organisational strategy.
- Leadership of multidisciplinary teams through managers and specialist leads.
- Strong senior stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- The ability to use data and insight to guide investment and evaluate impact.
- Experience of regulatory learning would be advantageous.
Education
- A degree or equivalent professional experience in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Business, Psychology or a related discipline is desirable. Relevant professional qualifications in learning, skills, workforce planning, organisational development or coaching would also be beneficial.
