Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Assessor and IQA team, ensuring high standards of delivery across all assessment activities
  • Oversee and implement internal quality assurance strategies across multiple qualification pathways
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, awarding organisation requirements and external quality assurance standards
  • Plan and manage sampling, auditing and monitoring activities to maintain consistency and reliability in assessment decisions
  • Drive standardisation activities to ensure alignment across assessors, IQAs and trainers
  • Monitor team performance against KPIs, providing coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and awarding organisations to develop and improve assessment materials
  • Act as Lead IQA, observing assessor practice and supporting continuous improvement
  • Represent the organisation with external stakeholders and maintain up-to-date industry knowledge through CPD

Experience

  • 8-10 years experience within a relevant safety-focused industry
  • Proven experience leading or developing high-performing teams
  • Background in training, education or assessment environments
  • Experience overseeing learner journeys and assessment lifecycles
  • Experience working within regulated or standards-driven frameworks
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Education

  • Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning
  • Level 3 qualification in Assessing
  • Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance or equivalent
