A senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the development teams working on learning management systems (LMS) and competency management platforms. This interim role requires a credible and hands-on leader who can address the backlog of work, drive improvements and manage other projects including future operating models. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of software development experience, including the management of software development teams. Expertise in ASP.NET and React is essential. Experience in the development of LMS, LXP or competency assessment platforms is advantage. Home based with weekly travel to offices near Camberley once a week typically.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the engineering and software development team responsible for developing LMS and competency management platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance, direction and mentorship to team members.
  • Ensure efficient resource allocation and project management to meet delivery commitments and goals.
  • Oversee the delivery of platform functionality through a combination of existing and new development software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and senior leadership teams.
  • Balance quality software development with speed, to meet business needs.
  • Plan, execute and implement software projects.
  • Manage project scope, risks and budgets.

Skills

  • Proven leadership skills, including team management and project execution.
  • Strong understanding of new and relevant technologies in the field.
  • High level of proficiency in ASP.NET and React.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of software development experience.
  • Experience in the development of LMS, LXP or competency assessment platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in software development and project management.
  • Experience of managing software development teams.

Education

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar.
