Business Development Manager

£50K-£55K Basic Salary + OTE

As part of their ambitious growth plans, a well established provider of leadership and management related training and coaching programmes is looking to recruit an additional member of their B2B sales team. As an integral part of this small team, you will help to develop business development strategies and grow sales revenues in this area of the business.

  • Prospecting for and identifying new opportunities within both prospect accounts and existing or dormant clients.
  • Helping to shape the strategic direction of the B2B sales function
  • Achieving personal sales targets and maintaining accurate sales forecasts
  • Consulting with senior stakeholders in clients and prospects to identify their challenges and demonstrate how the range of learning solutions will meet their needs
  • Working with internal colleagues to define and create go-to-market strategies and define the future direction of blended learning offerings
  • Assisting with marketing campaigns and other promotional activities
  • Keeping abreast of developments within L&D to apply the latest thinking in relation to effective learning solutions and strategies
  • Meeting with clients and prospects, both virtually and face-to-face to discuss their L&D challenges and position suitable solutions to these.
  • Utilising existing industry contacts to develop new business
  • Producing and analysing sales and account mapping reports to make well informed decisions



  • Self-motivated with an interest in personal development
  • Ability to work both within a team and autonomously to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong organisational skills
  • Good proposal writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work at pace and to tight deadlines


  • Several years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on LD and business skills
  • Proven achievement of personal sales targets Minimum 500K per annum
  • Ability to win both transactional and complex LD deals 10K to 100K and above
  • Proven track record of success in building external relationships with senior LD stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of LD in relation to leadership and management


  • Educated to a degree level is desirable
