Business Development Manager L&D

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with a flair for Learning & Development and a hunger for driving success? Here's your chance to join a global leader in learning solutions, where you'll spearhead new business and nurture impactful, long lasting relationships with clients. Reporting to the Sales Director, the BDM plays a crucial role in driving business growth through lead generation and sales. This role is essential for expanding the clients UK operations, particularly focusing on promoting a comprehensive range of L&D services. This hybrid role requires travel to their office 1-2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek out and develop new business opportunities, promoting a diverse range of learning solutions and services
  • Generate leads through various channels including cold calling, emails, social media, and industry events
  • Maintain and manage a robust sales pipeline, with a focus on developing long-term relationships and building a portfolio of clients
  • Engage in consultative selling, understanding client needs and aligning solutions to deliver value
  • Translate client requirements into effective solutions, creating value through tailored learning services
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers to secure long-term partnerships
  • Work closely with internal teams to deliver seamless client solutions
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs, providing regular updates on performance and ensuring CRM systems are fully up-to-date

Skills

  • A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and generate new leads
  • Ability to gain client trust through a solid understanding of industry trends and tailored solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Confident in delivering presentations and proposals to clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and client demands simultaneously
  • A resilient attitude with the drive to consistently meet targets and deadlines

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in identifying and securing new clients
  • Experience in a consultative sales environment, with a focus on understanding client needs and delivering appropriate solutions
  • Experience in selling LD or HR solutions to senior stakeholders
  • A strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and commercial KPIs

Education

  • Any LD related qualifications are desirable but not essential
